Festival of Contemporary Music

This weekend, I’m performing Mendel Lee’s Timpani Forces at the Festival of Contemporary Music in San Fransisco.  Mendel composed the piece for Syracuse Symphony Percussionist David Constantine, and it was premiered in New Orleans this Spring.

The piece was composed in honor of my mentor and teacher, Charles Dowd.  It is a great honor to be able to perform this piece in the Bay Area, where Charles spent so much of his performing and teaching career.

Hat’s off to Nathan for this wonderful addition to the scarce Vibraphone Concerto repertoire!
